Bombe is a high-altitude area in the Bombe mountains of the Bensa district, Sidama — approximately 2,000 meters above sea level. This altitude plays a crucial role in the coffee's quality: the colder climate slows down the growth cycle, harvesting is done later, and better soil drainage reduces the water available to the plants. The result is a slow-ripening cherry, small, dense, and full of flavor.

The Ayla Bombe washing station, owned by Testi Trading and operated by the Yonis family, maintains a local collection point so farmers don't have to travel long distances. Once at the station, the coffee is processed separately from other lots to preserve its unique profile. Washed processing includes depulping, several days of fermentation in water, hand rinsing, and drying on raised beds.

Testi Trading actively invests in local communities — they have built several primary schools and the first high school in Hamasho town.

In the cup: bergamot, red fruits, molasses, citrus, and black tea — with a pronounced molasses sweetness and a long black tea finish.
